Climate Champions: How Upcycled Ingredients are Making a Difference
A study by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) found that approximately one-third of all food produced worldwide is wasted. This wasted food is responsible for 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Utilising upcycled ingredients in our food can significantly reduce this impact, directly contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gases.
Embracing upcycled ingredients is a vital step toward a sustainable food system and aligns perfectly with the principles of the circular economy, making a substantial difference in our fight against climate change.
